Kid-Friendly Checkups & Cleanings
Our main goal with these check-ups and cleanings is to make sure your little ones feel comfortable and safe with us. This positive relationship will help them build good dental hygiene habits that will last them a lifetime – and it will make getting them into the car and then into the office a whole lot easier on appointment days!
The checkup process will be very brief and gentle – our goal here is to focus only on finding decay and pinpointing any issues with tooth development
We’ll start to incorporate more involved screenings, professional cleanings, and even some fun oral hygiene 101 instructions.
We’ll have gentle but thorough exams, screenings, and professional cleanings. If we notice any misalignment or bite issues, we also have orthodontic treatment options including Invisalign treatment.

Dental Sealants For Kids
When children first start to brush and floss without Mom and Dad’s help, they can’t always get into the hard-to-reach areas, like the back of the mouth. As a result, the premolars and molars (“back teeth”) are very likely to have a higher risk of cavities during these early years.
To protect these teeth, Dr. Saremi or Dr. De Vincenzo may recommend a dental sealant, which covers the deep pits and grooves along the chewing surfaces so that food particles don’t get lodged there and start to decay.
The sealant process is painless, only takes a couple of minutes, and can last for several years – plenty of time for your little ones to learn proper brushing techniques.
Fluoride Treatment For Kids
Many studies have shown that regular exposure to fluoride actually benefits oral health, strengthening tooth enamel through remineralization and reducing the harm of decay-causing bacteria. That’s why Cimarron Family Dentistry strongly recommends professional fluoride treatments for children! We’ll simply paint a thin layer of fluoride varnish on the tooth surfaces after a regular cleaning. The process is quick, comfortable, and painless.
Tooth-Colored Fillings for Kids
As much as we try to prevent them, nearly everyone experiences a cavity at one point or another in their lives. To correct the damage as comfortably and seamlessly as possible in our younger patients, Dr. Saremi and Dr. De Vincenzo use tooth-colored composite resin. This material is very flexible and conservative, which means that we can preserve as much of the remaining healthy tooth as possible. The lack of metals also means it will feel comfortable, even when eating very hot or cold foods.
Athletic Mouthguards for Kids
If your child is a burgeoning athlete, you’ve likely bought them all the important gear they’ll need to stay safe while on the court or field – but what about their teeth? Any sport that involves even the possibility of physical contact can cause severe dental injuries, which is why we strongly recommend the use of an athletic mouthguard. Our team can design a custom-made model that’s head and shoulders above the “one size fits all” appliances you’d find at the store, providing excellent durability, comfort, and flexibility for your child.
The Importance of Building a Healthy Smile
With sugary treats being the main prize for many young children, it isn’t surprising that tooth decay is a commonly faced problem. But the good news is, it’s largely preventable with a strong foundation of good oral health. Scheduling regular dental checkups for your child can help you catch small cavities before they become big problems.
Don’t wait for a cavity to show up before taking action. You can save your child from more invasive and expensive treatments down the line, and everybody can keep smiling happily.
